Dear colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I share the news that I have been engaged as an Associate Professor at the Academy of Applied Studies Belgrade – Department of the High Medical School in Zemun, in the study program “Professional Master Sanitary–Environmental Engineer”, within the narrower scientific field “Risk Management in Emergencies and Civil Protection”.

In the 2025/2026 academic year, I will be teaching the course
“Modern Strategies and Systems of Civil Protection”.

I sincerely look forward to the opportunity to work with students and colleagues to advance contemporary knowledge, professional competencies, and good practice in the fields of civil protection, risk management, and strengthening community resilience.

Vladimir M. Cvetkovic is the Assоc. Prof. (Disaster Risk Management) at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Security, has been engaged in research in the field of disaster studies for 15 years. He has published over 300 research papers and 30 scientific monographs. He founded the Scientific Professional Society for Disaster Risk Management in Serbia, the International Institute for Disaster Research, and the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Disaster Risk Management.
