This edition marks a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts to promote global, interdisciplinary, and applied research in the field of disaster risk reduction, emergency management, and societal resilience.
We are proud to feature 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers contributed by authors from more than 20 countries across the globe.
These include contributions from both emerging and economically advanced nations. Notably, authors in this issue are affiliated with institutions from the United States, Germany, Japan, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, India, Turkey, and Romania—underscoring the journal’s growing relevance and recognition within the international academic and professional community.
These contributions explore a wide range of critical and timely topics, including:
disaster mapping and flood risk assessment using GIS technologies, inclusive disaster preparedness for people with disabilities, legal and institutional frameworks in disaster management, artificial intelligence for emergency coordination, cybersecurity threats viewed through the disaster risk lens, post-COVID tourism and community recovery, climate change vulnerabilities in agriculture and coastal livelihoods, as well as cross-national evaluation of disaster policies and education in risk reduction.
