ТHE ROLE OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE IN DISASTERS CAUSED BY TERRORISM Abstract: The modern terrorist attacks, are different from those of past performance in a tactical change, the introduction of professional planning attacks and increasing the volume of activity and destructiveness. More and more are starting to talk about, super terrorism, which aims to draw attention to the gradual transition of terrorist groups with the use of conventional weapons to weapons of mass destruction. Given the health consequences of use of these weapons by terrorist groups, particularly relevant emergency service in removing the consequences of such an attack, is the emergency medical service and the entire medical staff. This service, in addition to police and fire and rescue unit has a key role in responding to terrorist attack. The current emergence of a large number of victims, with difficult to locate and provide medical assistance, the need to limit the stay of people in an area that is contaminated, would greatly complicate the work of the emergency to be faced with many tasks. This paper analyzes the role and tasks of the emergency medical service caused by a terrorist attack using weapons of mass destruction, with particular reference to triage and transport the wounded and prepare the hospital to receive casualties from the scene of such terrorist attacks. In addition, this paper analyzes the role of health services in the elimination of health consequences in the Republic of Serbia.
