In addition, in the world there are large quantities of nuclear weapons various strength and power, which continues to pile up and improves with continued expansion of countries that possess these weapons. Terrorist groups can attack buildings and institutions for producing nuclear energy and nuclear weapons only in the production, transport and storage. Bearing in mind the consequences and destructiveness of nuclear weapons is potentially the most lethal weapon that terrorist groups may be used in the implementation of violence to achieve goals. One of the most important tools in the protection of nuclear weapons is legal regulation, both at global and national levels. In this paper, the authors discuss two groups of issues. The first part is treated the concept and characteristics of nuclear weapons, as well as assumptions of its misuse for terrorist purposes. The second part is devoted to the legal regulation and protection of the criminal misuse of nuclear weapons for terrorist purposes.
